AnyForty collaborator Mr Penfold, now sans the Mr, has a incredible new show opening up in the city we grew up in, falling under the title 230 Miles Due North. Penfold has clocked up those miles traveling from Cambridge to Newcastle to create a new body of work that’s exclusively on display at Unit 44 gallery, in Holt Yard Estate,Walker.  Ranging from canvasses to walls and lots more. The show looks incredible from what we’ve seen on his Instagram so far. If your anywhere near the North East you’d be a fool not to check this out. Opens a week today…

Metamore, Industry In The Streets and AnyForty

28th August 2013 | Tags: , ,

We’re always keen on reaching out and supporting talented people, be it beatboxers like Hobbit, dancers like Antics or DJ’s like Ritchie Ruftone  so when our mate Fusion hit us up and let us know about Birmingham artist Metamore we paid attention. See Fusion is someone we’ve known for a long ass time, and for those of you who don’t know, this producer was behind some of the most incredible music to come out of the UK scene in the industry in the early 00′s, Groundbreaker still sounds as fresh today as it did 10 years ago. Fusion is ahead of the game. So when he told us about Metamore performing at the recent Industry In The Streets TrueSkool event at Rich Mix, Shoreditch, 15 mins away from where we’re based, we new we had to sort the fella out with some AnyForty garms to rep on stage and take back up to Brum.

Much to our surprise, Metamore cooked up this sick freestyle video with Ozone Media for us, showcasing his unique style of dancehall singing and spitting. Good looking out fella, keep doing your thing, we got ya back!!

AnyForty Family: Mr. Penfold Solo Show…

17th July 2013 | Tags: , ,

Now this, this looks sick! AnyForty fam Mr. Penfold‘s debut London show opens in Camden on Thursday August 1st and showcases brand new work from him on 3 materials, wood, canvas and paper. We’re lucky enough to have seen a few sneak peeks and trust, it’s looking incredible, Mr P has really delved into the realms of abstract art and graffiti on this one. Oh, on the opening night you can also grab a exclusive limited edition screenprint of only 25 have been made, check it out below the event flyer. We’ll be there, if your in London make sure you come along too…

Not For Rental – Opening Night Private View

So last night, trecked down to The Church Of Londons incredibly warm 71A Gallery to see the brand new exhibition Not For Rental curated by our mates Timba Smits (AnyForty Dodgeball legend!) and Gordon “Flash” Shaw, executively produced by Little White Lies magazine. Basically Not For Rental is a art exhibition featuring over 200 illustrators and designers who’ve customised VHS boxes with movie specific artwork.

So many artists are involved it would be impossible to name them all, but we spotted pieces from AnyForty family Travis Price, Andre Beato, Mr Penfold, Mr Bowlegs and MegaMunden amongst many others. All pieces will be sold off from Saturday 13th July for 50 quid a pop to help support Macmillan Cancer Research and Art Against Knives. If your a movie fiend get down and guess which movie each box of art is based on. In all honest, we’re not exactly movie geeks here, so apart from the likes of Teen Wolf, White Men Can’t Jump, Tron etc we struggled guessing what some of them where!

A really fun show for a great cause, Timba and Gordon have really done a incredible job here and should be incredibly proud of the outcome. You can read more about the exhibition in this quality Huck Magazine article.

Show opened last night and runs until Sunday 13th July. Open from 10am till 6.30pm so pop along and check it out!
