AnyForty Charity Group Show: Artist Unveil 17 of 25

Another day, another unveil, and this rolling ball is really gaining momentum now, for this summer sunday proud to hit you off with artist unveil number 17 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Charity Group show taking place at 5th Base Gallery, London from July 24th until July 27th, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce another of our guest artists, and the first and only studio to be involved, girls and guys it’s…

Now it’s no secret we’re from originally from Newcastle, and have our distribution centre based just over the bridge in Gateshead, but the real shame is in our 6 years of business, we’ve never worked with any hometown heroes, but that’s all set to change with the introduction of Dirty Hands Co to the AnyForty Family. Dirty Hands Co is 3 artists, Marc Ross, Ryan Quickfall and Jonny Seal. These guys have been on our radar for a good few years now, unfortunately not familiar with Jonny’s work (yet) but first noticed Marc about 4 years ago seeing his superb work with Prefab77 and at the time AnyForty stockists Elektic Sheep and have followed him on social media ever since, dude has the cutest dog (apart from our Monni of course!) on instagram, Buddy. We’ve also known about Ryan for a while now seeing his slick work for fellow indy clothing brands like Dudes Factory in Berlin and Soiree in Los Angeles. These guys teamed up to form the mixed media design studio Dirty Hands Co, specialising in all manor of beautiful artwork over many platforms, illustration, branding, fashion, editorial, the lot, however the stuff that’s really caught our attention of late is the incredible interior makeovers they are taking over Newcastle with. We were in Dat Bar in Newcastle over Easter and were completely blown away by what the guys have done there, they’ve had their dirty fingers involved in every aspect of the resteraunts launch, ranging from huge murals, a incredible wood cut, illuminated hand drawn typographical sign, branding, printed collateral, the lot, they’ve fucking smashed it. No interior is untouchable either, alongside restaurants/bars/coffee shops, they’ve also dabbled in retail,  blessing the likes of Newcastle based sneaker boutique Soleheaven with a incredible mural that really needs to be seen up close. Super excited to welcome the lads to the AnyForty Family, and can’t wait to see what they cook up for us!

AnyForty Charity Group Show: Artist Unveil 16 of 25

Onto the final countdown, du, du, du, du, de, de , de , de de, uhm yeah, so into the final 10 with a thump now, and proud to hit you off with artist unveil number 16 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Charity Group show taking place at 5th Base Gallery, London from July 24th until July 27th, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce another artist who’ll be more than familiar to the AnyForty Regulars. Lasses and fellas it’s…

Add Fuel aka Diogo Machado is a artist like no other, our man does so much sick illustrative , character driven work for clients all over the world including regular designs for dream clients like Nike, (Check out his website to see all of those) but really bloody excels in his incredible symmetrical tiled patterns, containing a magical modern day medieval world filled with quirky characters, decorative flair and a dashing of Portuguese humour with some of the freshest colour pallets under the sun. Equally at home tearing up patterns to be sold as standard sized tiles in illustrator as he is painting them as giant murals on the side of huge buildings. Diogo has a style all of his own and no one can touch him. We first discovered him in his and fellow AnyForty Family Paulo Arraiano’s “Spaces Within” show in London at 2012, and been huge fans ever since. If you own one of his previous AnyForty collaborations, you’ll understand really how detailed his work is. Own a few of Diogo’s tiles and regularly catch ourselves staring at them like some modern day magic eye piece. Super stoked to have Diogo involved and what he’s done is gonna blow your wee minds! Incredible artist and all round lovely fella. Watch this space…

AnyForty Charity Group Show: Artist Unveil 15 of 25

Back with the quickness, no time to catch your breath folks following the event location unveil, proud to hit you off with artist unveil number 15 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Charity Group show taking place at 5th Base Gallery, London from July 24th until July 27th, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce another of our brand new guest artists…

Alongside Justin Maller, Luke Choice aka Velvet Spectrum is another Australian artist currently based in New York and a artist we’ve known since… think 2009/2010?! Basically a long ass time, first meeting him through AnyForty collaborators MegaMunden and Another Example on a boozy weekend in Brighton. He’s been a artist we’ve always kept track off, dudes really found his style the last few years and has been crafting it as part of the incredible Vault49 studio in New York during the day and producing some incredible personal work outside of it. His 3D work is really jaw dropping, but so far wasn’t something we thought would translate well to traditional screen printed garments, however with this group show being digital prints, it made sense to get him involved, can be sure whatever he does will absolutely blow your mind. If you haven’t come across Velvet Spectrum’s work yet, feast your eyes on some of the gems below and get inspired. We’re super stoked to have him involved in the show, welcome to the AnyForty Family pal!

AnyForty Versus Exhibition 2014: Event Unveil!

Super excited to announce that we’ll be hosting our AnyForty Versus Exhibition, now renamed AnyForty Charity Group Show (it says what it is) at the brilliant 5th Base Gallery, on Heneage Street, just off Brick Lane, London after the guys came on board as event sponsors.

We first stumbled across the 5th Base gallery when checking out the New Rule Collectives “Come Out To Play” show, and were blown away, a) by the size of the space, with the long white walls, track spotlighting system, theres so much space for displaying rad artwork, and b) that outdoors space for sweaty spill outs when the main gallery gets too packed. And trust it will. Throwing the event in late July, when British summer time should be in full flow that outside space will come in very handy! There was only one place we wanted to throw our event and super stoked we got it.

So yeah, that’s the event, and that’s the date it kicks off above. Much love to Diana and the guys at 5th Base, thank you for believing in what we’re cooking up and donating the space for a incredible cause, helps us ensure all the money we raise goes straight to the Calm guys. Make sure you go like 5th Base’s Facebook page here, and follow them on Twitter here.

Stay tuned for more info soon guys, including details of a very special launch night and of course more artist unveils! Make sure you mark that date Thursday 24th July in your diaries, and those of you outside of London, no excuse not to book a cheap(er) advance train ticket and come down for it!

AnyForty Versus Exhibition 2014: Artist Unveil 14 of 25

Back with the quickness and hitting you square in the face with a erect owl wing comes artist unveil number 14 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Versus Charity Exhibition taking place in London (venue to be announced real soon) in July, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce another artist who’ll be more than familiar to the AnyForty die hards, lasses and fellas it’s…

London based Yorkshire bred owl luver Mr Gauky is a artist who’s been a bit of a AnyForty regular for a while now, first cooking up a piece for us in 2010′s AnyForty Charity Exhibition in Bristol, then smashing a boss eyed British Bulldog out the park as part of our Blood, Sweat & 5 Years collection last summer.  Well known for his work in the skateboarding communuty (Gauky is the man behind many a incredible skate deck from the likes of SuperDead skateboards) Their is no one else with a illustration style like Gauky’s, his kooky character heavy work graces everything from 3 inch vinyl toys to 30 foot high walls and in the London group show scene you don’t have to go far to see a Gauky piece stealing the show, like the rad baseball bat weapon installation we spotted at the recent Warriors inspired Come Out To Play Show by the New Rule Collective.

Super stoked to have Gauky on board the good ship AnyForty again and can’t wait to see what he cooks up for the show!

AnyForty Versus Exhibition 2014: Artist Unveil 13 of 25

And we are officially over the half way mark folks, proud to unveil artist number 13 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Versus Charity Exhibition taking place in London (venue to be announced real soon) in July, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce another artist who’ll be more than familiar to the AnyForty die hards, lasses and fellas it’s…

Dmitri Aske aka SickSystems was one of the first artists we ever collaborated with, way back in 2009 when we released our first Versus range of artist collaboration garments, and to this day the Fresh To Death tee is still one of our most well known graphics.

It’s been great to see Aske’s creative journey these last few years, this is a incredibly talented and hard working artist who’s not prepared to sit on his style and take things easy, constantly evolving his style, but somehow still keeping it 100% recognisable as his work, smashing things for clients all over the world including the likes of  Nike, Red Bull, Nokia, Reebok, Montana, fuck it, dude’s client list is one many artists would happily retire once they’d worked for brands like that. As well as creating his artwork in digital formats, on walls and even wood cut installations (for reference those woodcut instillations are bloody mind-blowing), Aske still finds time to run the Russian online magazine Code Red.

This collaboration for the Charity exhibition will be the 4th time we’ve worked with Aske, and each and every time he nails it, never any amends, never any queries. Definitely a very important member of the #AnyFortyFamily and a artist we absolutely love to work with!

AnyForty Versus Exhibition 2014: Artist Unveil 12 of 25

First up, apologies on the delay of these blog posts, if you didn’t see on the social media tip, been up in Aberdeen tearing down the stage of a incredible creative conference called The Meat, alongside the likes of illustration and design legends like JamFactory, Brand Nu, Signalnoise and Aaron Draplin. If you wanna see talks from those fellas, there’s a digital pass being sold here.

Anyway, back to business and proud to hit you square in the face with artist unveil number 12 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Versus Charity Exhibition taking place in London (venue to be announced real soon) in July, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce a previous collaborator to the AnyForty Family first seen in the AnyForty & T-world “The Australian Invasion Series” ladies and gentlefellows, let us reintroduce you to another Australian collaborator…

Repping Sydney town to the fullest and hailing from a sick family of artists, Dale, his brother Benny, and their pops are all incredible pencil man handlers. Dale is hands down one of the hardest working artists we know, balancing a incredible work ethic alongside family life raising 2 little girls, we got nothing but respect for his graft, incredibly humble even though he’s rapidly growing in name, smashing stuff for heavyweight clients like Harley Davidson and Sullen. He’s making a name for himself by being one of the sickest artists to smash up black and white illos since Mr Giant first picked up a pen, no one can flip a skull like our man Dale. His style and the way he tears illustrator up is immense, just look at the shading in the hat and the roses in the Mr Black Owl illo below. Now Mr Bigeni smashes skulls out for fun, but we thought this being a exhibition that’s helping to raise awareness of young male suicide, was probably best to stay away from anything that resembles death, and boy, our pal has come through and blown our minds.  All you fellow 80′s baby’s it’s gonna blow your minds. Much love to Dale for getting involved with the AnyForty cause once again. AnyFortyFamily fo’ life!

AnyForty Versus Exhibition 2014: Artist Unveil 11 of 25

Back with the quickness, following yesterdays unveil of Mike Harrison, proud to hit you in the face with artist unveil number 11 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Versus Charity Exhibition taking place in London (venue to be announced real soon) in July, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce a previous collaborator to the AnyForty Family first seen in last Autumn/Winter’s Chapter 01 range, ladies and gentleman it’s one of our South West fam…

SPZero76 is a Bristol based illustrator and street artist who’s been making some serious noise these last 12 months, building up a impressive client list including work for the likes of Cubanisto, Posca, Rip Curl, Red Bull and Mambo and tearing up walls around Europe for fun on the solo tip or with his Lost Souls crew. One of the hardest working artists in the game, dude’s got such a sick style of creating characters, you can spot a SP character instantly. We are still absolutely in love with SP’s last piece for our Chapter 02 range and the original print from the preview party we did at Rokic takes pride of place in our studio, we can’t wait to see what he cooks up for our charity exhibition. Super honoured and proud to continue our relationship with a very humble and super talented artist!

AnyForty Versus Exhibition 2014: Artist Unveil 10 of 25

Slow on the follow up to Monday’s announcement of Ohnoes, shit is hectic at the moment, curating the exhibition, planning the new collection alongside some exciting secret stuff, there’s just not enough hours, minutes or seconds in the days.

Aaaaaaaaaaannnnyway, back with artist unveil number 10 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Versus Charity Exhibition taking place in London (venue to be announced real soon) in July, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce a super talented home grown artist who is a heavyweight multi-disciplinary designer and illustrator,  based in London. Ladies and gentleman, introducing another of our guest artists…

Mike Harrison, currently working under the Destill name is a young British artist, fully at home smashing up artwork in a multitude of styles and disciples, equally comfortable creating stunning surreal photoshop visuals for fun as part of the Depthcore family as he is crafting custom illustrated typography or knocking up some work for clients such as Nike and the NBA through the Keystone Design Union A truly multi disciplined artist. Not just one who says he is!

Those AnyForty die hards amongst you might remember us shouting about Mike a year ago when he was filmed as part of the Fotolia Ten series, working on a project (which we never actually released… yet!) at AnyForty HQ as part of Fotolia’s series of documentaries on creatives from different city’s around the world. Go check it out here was incredibly sick!

Super excited to have Mike involved in the exhibition, and going to be really exciting to see which style he dips in his toolbox and brings out for his final piece!

AnyForty Versus Exhibition 2014: Artist Unveil 9 of 25

19th May 2014 | Tags: , , , , , ,

A brand new week brings the unveiling of a brand new artist to the AnyForty family. A artist that rings in at number 9 of 25 of the incredible lineup of worldwide artists who’ve donated their time and skills for our AnyForty Versus Charity Exhibition taking place in London (venue to be announced) in July, and again, in no particular order, proud to announce a super talented fella who we actually met through our mate Saul of Boywolf when we were over in Melbourne in November last year. Lasses and gents, introducing…

Ohnoes is one of the founding members of Melbourne creative studio space The Artshole a place that’s home to loads of sick artists like Unwell Bunny, chehehe and Boywolf amongst many more. Ohnoes is a man who’s deadly with a variety of artistic instruments. A monster with a aerosol can painting mentally detailed characters (just look at the reflections in the lasses eye’s below, insane!) on huge brick walls and equally vicious with a pencil and pen on paper, that Kobe Bryant piece below was the first thing that caught my eye in the Arts Hole studio.  Super stoked to have Ohnoes as part of the AnyForty Family. Go make him feel welcome by hitting him up on his Facebook page and instagram. Can’t wait to see what he brings to the table, always been a good amount of love for AnyForty from Australia, and always good to add another Australian artist to the crew.
